Skagway

So we are on our way to Alaska for the first time. More specifically, Skagway, Alaska at the head of the gold rush stampede of '98.

This is the high pass along the white pass route. We are very close to the US border and during the Easter Long Weekend many people take their snow machines and rip around the endless amount of snow.

Beautiful drive coming right up to the US customs office.

Lau mesmerized by the peaks along the ocean.

The town of Skagway... Many stores are still closed, they only open for summer (tourist season) when all the cruise ships dock.

Lau looking very "happy" after a chilly night in the tent.

Yeah......

We camped at Dyea (now a ghost town). Dyea is the head of the other (or more famous pass) at the trailhead of the Chilkoot Trail.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

The Dyea Tidal Flats.

Ice Fishing

These are some some of the views from ice fishing...no luck yet...

 This is our neighbour Scott.

This was our trip out to Carcross, Yukon at the beginning of March (Carcross was formerly known as Caribou Crossing). Carcross happens to be the home to the world's smallest desert.

In the winter, families would bring their kids to the desert and haul them up the hill with a snowmobile and then have them sled down.
