SKAGWAY II
Alright, so we took a trip to Skagway for the second time since we loved it so much the first time. Lau of course wanted to see the seals again, plus this time we get to bring our own canoe!
Below is Emerald Lake just outside of Carcross, YT (formerly Caribou Crossing). The type of bedrock below gives it its "emerald" colour.
Of course the cruise ships just started coming in mid May. Skagway felt much different the second time around since there were lots of tourists around and all the shops were actually open!
Yaaaar! The choppy seas!
SILVERADO...
This is the cemetery for the victims of the great avalanche of 1898 that occurred on the Chilkoot Trail during the Gold Rush. The cemetery is situated in the ghost town of Dyea.
