DAY 6 - Portage La Prairie, MB to Calgary, AB

We left Portage La Prairie at 7am and we knew we had a long day ahead of us. Driving through west Manitoba, the wind was gusting with incredible force. To give you an idea, my truck will typically do 14.5L/100km on the highway cruising at 110km/h. When we filled-up at Brandon, I calculated the truck only got 20L/100km and  we were only doing max 113km/h!! Anyways that hurt the wallet a bit!

Anywho here is an example of some oil pumps that were scattered along western Manitoba and Saskatchewan that we saw from the Highway 1.

Entering into Saskatchewan. This is both our first times visiting this province. We just basically enjoyed the views of the Saskatchewan landscape as it whipped by, I mean come on not a whole lot to see there especially in the winter!

Found it pretty neat to see a power generating windmill...

Regina is where Lau took over and relieved me of my duties, I felt like a zombie...braaaaaiiin
The big "moose" in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan...

We have now crossed into Alberta (ya I know we missed the pic of the welcome sign, my bad)... Unfortunately the sun was setting so we only got to see a little bit of the landscape before it got dark.

View from my cousin Angela's condo in Calgary...we can't wait to see the view in the morning! We are planning on skiing at Sunshine Village tomorrow right near the town of Banff! :D
