DAY 7 - Skiing at Sunshine Village (Banff, AB)

Today we set out to go skiing in Banff National Park in Sunshine Village. After driving over 3000km we figured it was time to work those legs a bit!

Below are some pics on our drive from Calgary to Banff. Notice how there is very little snow. Calgary has been in a warm spell for a few days hitting temperature up to 9C in early January, very crazy!

On the slopes, we were so amazed by the views, it feels like we are in the middle of nowhere and the mountains are all around us. The gondola ride from the bottom to the "ski area" takes about 25min, that is how high we are. We were so high that at certain points Lau felt weak at the knees and dizzy!! haha

On this chairlift, we started in BC and skiied down into Alberta, I found that pretty cool!!

L'après ski, beh oui c'est merité!

A few more pictures of the views, just to make you jealous! ;)

"What an amazing day" - Lau
"I'm so glad we took a break and veered off our planned route to explore the beautiful Canadian Rockies, oh ya and Lau is boring on her daily thoughts. :) " - Kyle

  1. hey Kyle and Lau,

just read your post about skiing at Sunshine - I have been skiing there every year for the past 13 years or so. I'm glad you got to experience that - I agree that the views are amazing. And they get most of their snow in March, so that's why we like to go in April. Hope you are now safe and sound in Whitehorse!!
