DAY 8 - Calgary, AB to Dawson Creek, BC

Hello fellow followers! Sorry I didn't update the blog last night, we got into Dawson Creek, BC pretty late last night (well 7PM but it was a loooong day).

Anywho we began our trip out of Calgary at 8AM and it began as a very nice day! The picture below is somewhere along highway between Calgary and Edmonton.

Don't you just love the price of gas in Edmonton!!!!

View of the Edmonton skyline.

We are driving through oilsands territory and we start to see a lot of factories and refineries. All you can smell is either burnt oil or the burning brush as they clear more land area.

About 2 hrs outside Grande Prairie, AB it started to rain. It was about 2C when it began, just at the onset of freezing rain. I ended up having to drive about 2 hrs in the dark in this weather, it was awful to say the least! So I just got all pepped up on coffee and eventually made it! Oh ya and the sun set about just before 4PM

We are finally in BC, the funny thing is time doesn't change yet. The sun does't rise until about 9:30AM
